Course Description
The Geriatric Technician (Técnico/a de Geriatria) course is a comprehensive vocational training program designed to prepare professionals to provide qualified personal, social, and health-related support to elderly individuals in residential, institutional, community, and home-care settings.
This course develops solid competencies in hygiene and comfort care, mobility assistance, nutrition support, cognitive and social stimulation, accident prevention, and emotional support, always respecting the dignity, autonomy, rights, and individual needs of the elderly population.
The program emphasizes practical caregiving techniques, communication skills, ethical and professional conduct, teamwork, and the application of safety, hygiene, and health standards. It also focuses on recognizing age-related physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes, as well as identifying situations of risk, neglect, abuse, or mistreatment.
Graduates of this course are equipped to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary technical teams, supporting elderly individuals in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), therapeutic and recreational activities, and promoting quality of life, well-being, and active aging in various professional contexts.

Upon successful completion of the Electrical Installation Technician course, students will receive a Professional Certification in Electrical Installations & Building Systems Technology.
